A goddess told me my child would change the pack.
Until it happened, I didn't believe it.
Not until I saw it with my own eyes.

My woman is a nurturer. She's a bringer of change. A broker of the future.
She deals with emotions, sees auras, and glories in the urges of her three alpha mates.
To me, she's the saint.
But that doesn't make me or my brothers sinners.
We were fated to be together, fated to be different. There's nothing sinful in what we have, even if, in the eyes of her family, we're a disgrace.
She's Roma. Born and bred. Harkens from a rich culture, as ancient as my own, but with her heritage comes gifts I could never have foreseen. Not just for her, but her siblings as well.
Two are dead, the other has yet to be found. But uncovering family secrets is always dangerous without throwing mystical powers into the fray.
And these mystical powers?
Will change everything.
A revolution is underway.
We're not prepared for it. We can't be.

Moon Child by Serena Akeroyd

Another amazing sequel!

The author Serena has quickly become my favourite author this year. She has given yet another new release here that I just had to read and review straight away.

This is the sequel to Wolf Child and starts exactly where it ended on a cliffhanger so jumps right in with a bang.

I'd definitely start with Wolf Child if you haven't read yet. There was lots of questions I had during the last book as it really built the story and the world. Moon Child was great in answering them but still keeping me guessing on what would happen next throughout.

I enjoyed that we still got to see all the characters from before but we get to know Sabina's youngest sister  Lara more and dig into the family dynamics. This was by far perfectly set up and built upon showing off more of the authors writing.

I loved the twists and turns so much throughout I literally screamed at the ending. It has me wanting to read Sun Child so much. If its half as good as Moon Child then it will definitely be my favourite PNR Trilogy. I can't wait!

Steel's a prick

He stole my heart when I was a kid, and ever since, he's refused to let go. He's clung to me, even as he pushed me away, and I'm tired of it.

I'm over it, and over him. Of the games we play together, the endless waltz of him hurting me to shove distance between us.

So I'm out of there.

My future is medicine. If I turn into a crazy cat lady, then so be it. I'm good with that. At least Mrs. Biggins can't hurt my heart when she poops in my shoes...

Of course, Mrs. Biggins doesn't kiss like Steel either.

One kiss.

That's all we've had together, and it haunts me. My nights, my days, my waking moments, my sleeping ones. A single kiss. Where everything, the stars included, aligned and just felt right.

But Steel isn't mine to have... by his choice. And I've dealt with that. For years. So when he suddenly changes his mind? What am I supposed to do? Just fall at his feet?

I don't think so.

Find out if Steel and Stone can ever be together in STEEL, book four of A Dark & Dirty Sinners' MC series.

Steel by Serena Akeroyd

The Satan Sinners are back...

The much awaited book is here and well worth the wait. You definitely must read this book if you have already started the series or get started on them. They are to good to keep putting off and leaving on you TBR lists.

Steel has been in the background of the other books and I was desperate to know what was going on with him and Stone.

This is exceptionally written with very intricate interwoven storylines and relationships. There is so much history with Steel and Stone. Serena manages to give multiple POVs so we can see more details of what is going on and there feelings at that time.

This also gives flashbacks to their pasts as well. I found it really helped me to understand the history better between the two. It took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and Steel wasn't always in the good books for me either.

I loved this book so much there is such intense feelings between the characters and created for me reading.

Steel has been pushing Stone away and at some points cruel about it but you start to understand why and realise he's been hurting too even if he was completely in the wrong.

Stone is a strong independent women that has toughened up over the years because of him. Now she is not going to simply roll over for him. He is going to have to prove so much to her and rightly so. I see much grovelling for his future.

In the background with the storyline in the series (don't want to give spoilers) we see some resolution and answers to questions we had. However, it ends with the biggest cliffhanger and raises so many more questions.

I already knew I wanted to continue with the series but now I'm dying for Cruz to be released. Thankfully Serena has other books for me to read to keep me going until October.

Excerpt:
The rain pelted Dax’s face, each icy drop like a slap against his frozen cheeks. The wind
whipped through his wet hair, and his jeans and t-shirt clung to his body like a second skin. He
was aware of it all, but vaguely. His attention was on the dark water that ran underneath the
bridge he was standing on, and the two heavy trash bags that he’d just thrown over the railing
and watched as they sank slowly into the Charles River. He stood there until they’d completely disappeared, not even noticing the crimson-colored
drops of rain that slid down his arms and rolled off his hands, finally splashing against the
concrete at his feet. The icy rain stung the scratches on his arms, and he was faintly aware of
the burning sensation that lay underneath the splotches of pink on his t-shirt where his skin
had been torn open by the knife. Dizziness assaulted him all at once, and he reached out to grip
the railing, closing his eyes to regain his bearings. As soon as he did, the entire scene began to replay itself in his head, beginning with getting off the plane at Boston’s Logan International
Airport, early that afternoon. He’d been physically and emotionally overwrought, and the only thing on his mind was getting
home to his family. He slung his canvas bag over his shoulder and headed for the exit, but just
before he got there, he was overcome by a blast from the past. It took a hell of a lot to shake
Dax up, but at that moment he was shaken to his very core. The sights and sounds of the busy
airport disappeared and he became acutely aware of his rapidly beating heart and the burn of
the acid in his stomach and throat. It had been at least twenty years since he’d seen the man’s face. There were light scars where
the tattoos had been removed from his face, and the collar of his shirt hid the ones on his neck,
if they were still there...but Dax knew without a doubt who he was looking at. The man’s eyes
were focused on the woman he was talking to, but even from a distance, they were still like
looking into bottomless pits of darkness.
Dax had been so overcome with emotion at that moment that he’d almost confronted the man
right there in the airport. He was well versed in the art of self-control; he’d been trained by the
best. But just then as his own blue eyes lay glued to the man’s face, he felt his restraint waning. He had to physically shake himself and take a deep breath and remind himself who he was. He
was Dax Marshall, son of Doc Marshall and the leader of the largest MC on the East Coast. He
wasn’t a little boy any longer and the man with the wicked black eyes no longer had any hold
on him.
Instead of the confrontation that Dax physically ached for, he stood back, out of sight of the
man and the woman the man was with. After a few minutes, the two kissed goodbye and the
woman went toward the TSA checkpoint with her bag in tow. The dark-eyed man watched her
until she disappeared around the corner, and then turned and headed for the door. Dax let him
get a good distance ahead, and then he followed him out. At the time, he had no real plan for
what he’d do when he got the man alone, but he knew he couldn’t let him get away...again. Dax
had fantasized about this moment for years, and his fantasies were about to come true. He followed the man to short term parking and watched him get into a late-model Lexus SUV.
He hated taking a chance on losing him, but the parking garage was busy, and he knew security
cameras were watching from every corner. He watched the man pull out of his parking spot, memorized the license plate number, and then on his way up the stairs to the level where his
bike was parked, he called Hunter. “Hey, boss!”
“Hunter, I need a name and address on a registration on a cream-colored Lexus LX with vanity
plates. They’re Massachusetts plates, Lexi229.”
“You got it. You need this in a rush?”
“Yes, and Hunter, I also need you to forget I ever asked about this.”
“Give me five minutes, boss, and then it’ll be like I never heard from you.”
Dax thanked him and hung up. When he got to his bike he made another call, this one to Angel. “Hi, baby! Are you on the ground?”
“Yeah, but unfortunately, on the ground in Dallas.”
“Dallas?”
“Yeah, my flight out of LAX was delayed and this one is grounded until morning. I’m sorry, but
I won’t be home until tomorrow.”
“Oh...damn.”
“Everything okay there? You and Susie doing okay?”
“Yeah, baby, we’re fine. The guys are always looking out for us. I just miss you and I have
something I wanted to talk to you about.”
“I miss you too, and we’ll talk as soon as I get home.”
“Okay. I love you.”
“I love you more, baby.”
Dax felt a flutter of guilt for lying to his old lady. He rarely did that, but there were some things
that she didn’t need to know...some things no one needed to know...and this was one of them.
He unlocked his saddlebag and took out his kutte and put it on. He didn’t travel with it unless
he was on his bike, representing his club. He slapped on his half-shell helmet then and threw a
leg over his bike. He’d just settled into the leather seat when Hunter called him back. The car
didn’t belong to the man; it was registered to a woman. Dax was relieved to hear the woman
had the same last name as the man he was chasing, however, because that meant they
probably shared an address as well. He thought about how lucky it was that the woman was
boarding a plane; hopefully that meant he’d have the dark-eyed man all to himself.
Dax put the address Hunter gave him into his GPS and took off. The address was at a house in
Newton that was only about a thirty-five-minute drive from the airport. Newton was a suburb
near downtown Boston where the median income was six figures. If the black-eyed man
owned property there, Dax didn’t doubt that property had been built on the backs and blood of
other men, women...and probably children as well. “Boss?” Now Dax looked up from the dark water into the eyes of his SA. Cody stood there
holding a paper bag, as soaked to the skin as Dax was and looking at his president with worried
eyes. Dax took the heavy bag out of Cody’s hand and opened it up far enough to look down into
it. Satisfied with what he saw, he pulled his arm back like a professional baseball player and
tossed it over the rail. He listened for the splash and then looked at Cody and said:
“It’s done. We better get out of here before the sun comes up. I’ll meet you back at the house.”
Dax spent three hours at that house in Newton before he called Cody. Once Cody arrived, the
two men spent another two or three hours there. It would still take them several more hours to
do what they needed to do there and by that time, the sun would be up and Dax would need to
decide what to tell Angel about his wounds before heading home. He hadn’t slept in almost
forty-eight hours at that point, but there was no time for that. No rest for the wicked. With one
last glance over the railing he pulled the Lexus keys out of his pocket, looked at Cody again, and said, “I’m sorry for dragging you into this.”
Cody wasn’t much of a talker, but he touched Dax on the shoulder and gave him a look that said
everything he was feeling. The young man was loyal to a fault, and Dax knew that he’d be more
upset with Dax for not calling him than he ever would be at him for reaching out for help. Cody
was a good man, but he was a good man with a dark past, and Dax knew firsthand that
darkness can be suppressed, but never completely extinguished. Sometimes he felt guilty
knowing that darkness was what made Cody most invaluable to him on nights like this, and he
couldn’t know that and not wonder, at what cost did it come to his young brother?
Dax climbed back behind the wheel of the Lexus and watched in the rearview mirror as Cody
walked up the road to where he’d left his bike. Once he heard the Harley fire up, and Cody’s
headlight came on, Dax started the car. As he pulled it out onto the road, he glanced into the rearview mirror again. This time, instead of seeing what was right behind him, he saw a pair of
accusing blue eyes looking back at him. He remembered that feeling of hate that had hissed
like hot lead through his veins as soon as the man with the dark eyes had opened the front
door, and he remembered the five minutes of satisfaction that he’d had before the reality of
what he’d just done had set in. And now...all he felt was numb.

Mammoth
I swore an oath; to protect not only the club, but the woman in charge. She never knew the way I felt about her, not
that I had a chance.
After Dog was killed she moved on with the fresh blood in the club.
I hated it, but I had to accept it. After all, when Gamble made up her mind there wasn’t anyone who’d make her think
otherwise.
A bit of time has come and gone and we’re facing bigger threats than we ever did before. We knew of some enemies
and now more are coming out of the woodwork. A few are trying to have Baltimore be where they build their empires.
They’re simple turf wars, shit we can handle.
But one enemy is someone we weren’t expecting. They knew a secret we kept hidden very well, the paternity of
Gamble’s daughter.
There are rules in this life, and you just don’t cross some. Well, our enemies didn’t care. They crossed it, and now the
youngest person in our charter might not make it through.
They were supposed to rely on me. How can they do that now?
The better question is — how will anyone ever be able to again?

Path Of Redemption by S P Dawes

I have found this a hard review to write.

Path Of Redemption has a great plot and the twists kept me wanting more.

Callie is working hard to raise her 2 boys on her own after her husband died on the field. He was being mourned as a hero by everyone but her. Her kids have been growing up believing the stories they have heard but Callie has been keeping the abuse she suffered at his hands a secret.

Callie is a strong women who has picked herself up after his death to look after her boys and build a life for them and they have been her primary focus. Is she ready to move on now though?

I really liked Eddie as a character he is genuinely a nice, caring man. When Callie bumps into him in a chance meeting your hoping that she will take the chance on him.

Then the twists and turns really kick in. They seem to have a shared history that's coming back to haunt them.

The story had me hooked and I really felt for the characters. I hadn't realised there are other books on other characters featured until after I finished. This made me happy as I liked them but certainly the book can be read as a standalone.

My main issue I had with the book was the editing I think. It was a bit of a put off with the mistakes. Shame as kinda ruined the story a bit. Thankfully the plot itself had me so intrigued and keeped me reading.

***edit*** cover amended. Also author has confirmed that this has now been edited as well!

Behemoth by D.M Earl

Francis N Stein A slight supernatural twist to MC life....

Ok I found this a little strange to start with as it was different from other MC books I have read before. Though that's what sucked me in.

I haven't been well or able to concentrate on reading last few weeks but I wanted desperately to read this. So I gave it a go and a few hours later I realised I hadn't moved at all and managed to finish it in one sitting rather than the quick chapter or few pages I was going to try!

I loved that Stitch is not your perfect handsome male lead. He has his scars, a trouble past plus juggles being a firefighter with his MC life.

Stitch hides from the school children that are visiting the fire House as they tend to get scared because of size and the scars. However, one child has wandered off, Damien bumps into him and he finds a kindred spirit.

Damien has scars from when he was in a fire as a child. But its more than that. Francis can hear people's thoughts and Damien seems to also have something special about him.

The relationship between the pair is amazing and written so well. I think prefer that to the romantic relationship with Damien's mum.

I'm hoping that as the series goes on that there will be more with these characters as my only problem with the book was having so many unanswered questions. It didn't feel completely resolved and I just wanted more. As long as it still has more books to come though I'm hopeful that this can be continuation I will enjoy and look forward to reading other books by this author.

Ransom by Jessie Cooke

Ohhh I am so glad to see more of Ransom...

You get to me Ransom in Revenge which I read just before this one. It gave a little bit of an introduction to the character who is actually from the Westside Sculls and was just visiting.

I was very intrigued so was so happy to see this book was next and jumped straight in.

Ransom got his road name due to the fact he was kidnapped as a child. I'm sure that it is completely understandable therefore that he has had some problems with his mental health which have got worse since he returned from the Southside in the last book.

When he takes some time alone up to his parents cabin he meets Luna. She has been left on the driveway after being attacked and has no memory of what happened.

While Luna starts to physically get better her the pair get closer. However, her memories are still coming back in bits and pieces.

This gives us readers a mystery of trying to figure out what happened to her to keep us interested if need something other than just romance. To top it off though Ransom also starts digging into his past as well to see if can help him move forward and be happy with Luna.

I enjoyed this one so much as seemed so much more to it and felt more complete rather than like was missing something. It has set my resolve to read more by Jessie Cooke and will be starting at the beginning of series soon as I can fit it in.

Revenge by Jessie Cooke

I must go back and catch up.

I have never read any Jessie Cooke novels before and jumped right in here with Revenge. Its not that it can't be jumped into but I feel like I missed a lot of the back story.

This book focuses on Dax and his history. He is the Prez of Southside Skulls MC out of Boston. Dax from what I can gather normally puts his Club and Family above all else. However when he spots someone from his past he's all set to put Revenge first.

This has you jumping back and forward through history for him to try and tell what happened to cause the need for revenge as well as how its effecting his current situation. I don't mind these types but I know alot who prefer not to so this may not be for everyone.

I love that Jessie has showing the flaws in Dax by making this revenge so important to him.

Unfortunately I do regret having not at least read the first book in this series which is named for the character Dax. I would love to know more about him and how he and Angel got together.

That however didn't detract too much as far as I can tell from the story. I still enjoyed reading the book and certainly will now give me more to go back and read later.
